Michael W. Meissner - Multi-Instrumentalist
Michael William "Mike" Meissner is (born December 5, 1962) is an American singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, author and producer;  a founding member of the Stony Ridge Brothers, and most recognized as a founding member of Mike and the Mighty Mics. After the Stony Ridge Brothers disbanded in 1981, Meissner performed as a solo artist, and with other studio and stage musician. Meissner also founded and played in several other bands during his career, including Butterflies of Mars, Bod-a-Bing!, the Mike Meissner Band.



During his career, Meissner plays mostly rhythm guitar and sang many of the band's tunes. As a guitarist, he has a unique style of derivative voiceleading and syncopation bringing sophisticated breadth to the rhythm guitar.

Meissner is an multi-instrumentalist, accomplished on most stringed instruments; guitar, banjo, mandolin, piano and violin. He also plays the drums, harmonica, washboard, penny whistle, jaw harp, kazoo, Mbira, accordion, kazoo, and jug.
